Current we have a SAP EP deployment as foundation for portal that gives the end-users navigation + launch access to diverse applications - Portal built-in apps (WD4J), and external applications - SAP and non-SAP.
As we aim to modernize and improve on our portal user experience, I've designed a solution architecture in which deployment of Fiori LaunchPad is the new user entrance. The WD4J applications will be replaced by Fiori Apps, preferable standard ones (COTS), and custom-developed for those that have no sufficient fitting standard variant.
A challenge is user mapping. In the current deployment, Enterprise Portal user mapping is utilized for SSO from portal accounts to exposed applications.
What are the options for user mapping in a FLP setup? I'm aware of one, via FLP@EP. But am not in favor of that as we seek to consolidate our landscape, and plan to replace the EP deployment by FLP on a Gateway server in role of Fiori FES; and not to extend our landscape with both EP as FLP/Fiori deployments.
